Hi

The last couple times I have been out the main oil pump in the main tank has not sent oil to the reservoir in the engine. Iwas able to rig a system from the center console to power the pump in the main tank, so the pump works fine. The alarm goes off when the oil is low and the pump will work on its own on occasion (ie like it should). It would seem to me that it is some sort of conection problem, but I have checked them all and they seem clean and fine.

Any suggestions.

Could you have a bad wire I would suggest using a volt meter to test the voltage right at the pump and also where the wire originates from. If you have votage where it originates from then your issue is in between and you may have to run a new wire.

Does the toggle switch on the engine make the pump run? If it does consistantly(each time you push the switch up), then the sensor on the engine tank is most likely the cause. It grounds the romote pump to turn it on. If you test the float by taking it out of the tank and slide the float up an down, you should see if it grounds the circuit. Wiring is also a likely culprit but these sensors do go bad or get crudded up occaisionally. Good luck testing.
