I have a 14' Northwoods with a 15hp nissan. It was given to me by my inlaws last year and seemed to run good, except it never really had enough power to push it up to plane. It never seemed to run to its full potential. I tinkered with it, cleaned the carb, plugs, etc, but it never got better so I left well enough alone. The last trip out last year it started running just terrible, sputtering and missing, so I took it to a mechanic I know that cleaned the carb and tuned it. He ran it in his tank and said it ran great. That was in late fall so I fogged it, drained the lover unit and flushed it for the winter. Last week I got it out of storage and changed the plugs, lower unti oil and flushed it again. I put fresh mixed gas in the tanks and ran it briefly with muffs just to see that it was good and to get the fogging oil out of it. So anyways, I took it out on the lake today, started and idled good but when I throttle up it sputters and spits all the way through the range, especially at wide open throttle, according to my GPS i had a top speed of 5MPH. it ran terrible all day. I checked the coolant outlet to see if it was getting colling water and there is a small hole to the side that was spewing a steady stream, but the main hole was just spitting out a small amount of water. Basically, when it is idling or revving out of gear it seem to run ok, but when I shift into gear and throttle up it runs very poor. Please HELP!!!
