93 mercury 115 hp

My trim motor burnt out and Iwant toreplace it or have it rebuilt. I tried taking off the motor, pump and piston but can't figure out how to release the piston from the motor. I have the bottom of the system disconected but can't release the top of the piston. Anyone have any ideas? Wife wants to go for a ride.

Up were the crosspin connects to engine there is a knurled pin that has to come out tilt all the way up and use a pair of side cutters or dykes and pry pin out then remove cross pin and will come out.

Unfortunately the KURNEL pin is flush with the piston pin. I don't know which way to punch it out. Anyone Know what direction?
