The oil warning buzzer in my motor sounded during my last fishing trip. The buzzer emmitted a screetching "beep beep beep..." with about 1/2 second intervals between the sustaining beeps. There was oil tank was about 1/4 full -- maybe a little less. There was a constant stream of water from the pee tube. Motor sounds great and produces its normal slightly grey/white exhaust. I know very little about boat motors but a good deal about car motors. So, any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hello, <br /> Could it be a low oil warning?

Re: '93 Merc 200 Oil Warning Buzzer

G'day. The warning buzzer going Beep Beep is to indicate that you have a problem with the oiling system. The oil may be low but only in the top tank. the lower tank does not have a warning system. check out the top tank. If the oil is low then the oil is not getting up to the top tank. check that the caps on the lower tank are tight and are sealing properly. Also check the hoses. If the oil in the top tank is high then you have another problem, Run the motor on 50:1 until you solve the problem. There was a recent post that covered this problem quite recently. check it out.
