93 Glastron SSV 175 Stiff Steering

I'm new to this, so be nice...

I have a 93' Glastron with a Volvo 3.0l. My steering became very stiff at the end of the year, I just have the cable system, did not see any power steering pump unless I'm overloking it. Is there a way to determine if its the cable or not. Looking at other posts, it could be the cable, something on the drive connection or the box under the steering wheel. Only greese fitting i saw was on top of the drive. Any advice you could share to eliminate a few things would be much apperciated. Thanks. If you need more info let me know.

Must be a really late model 93, since Volvo didn't start using the 3.0L until 94. What outdrive do you have? If you aren't sure, pictures work great.

I have pictures but it wont let me upload them to the site. saying its to large. trying to shrink these. under the dash there is a Teleflex Rack System. Drive is a SP COTRIM by Volvo. i dont know where to start to figure out if its this rack system bad, the cable, or the something in the rear.

Drive is a SP CO TRIM by Volvo.

You probably have an OHC engine.
The stiff steering might be very similar to Mike's problem here.

the motor is a 230 Volvo

That is a Volvo OHC 2.3L engine. Not the GM 3.0L OHV engine.

figured out my issue...i disconnected the steering cable from the drive, drive moves super easy, disconnected up front at the rack system, steering wheel moves freely. its my cable. it wasnt easy to get out, little nervous on how I'm going to get a new one in. yikes. thanks for the help.
