93 force 70 HP low current/voltage from regulator

Mine has been low for years, draining batteries. Have not checked stator yet but the manual lists both 9 and 14 amp with different resistances. Don't know which to check for.
S/N OE23383.

Check the stator AC output with the AC setting on your meter. At idle, you should get @14-15 volts at 2000 rpm you should get 18-20 volts. Also check the DC output at the regulator using the DC setting on your meter. At idle, it should be 12.5-13 and at 2000rpm it should be 14.5.

The readings are approximate but will let you know where your problem is.

Only 4.5 VAC from the stator. Checked connections/wiring. Looks like the stator is the culprit.
