Good afternoon everyone!
Before I begin a bit of background: I am 25 and live in CT. Just purchased my first boat a little over a month ago.
All has been working brilliantly until this past weekend the trim up has been hit or miss. Sometimes it works, sometimes you would have to wait and press the button 3 or 4 times before it would move. This irritation became a serious problem when the up trim stopped working completely (down trim has never failed to function perfectly).
My first purchase will be an engine manual. In the mean time I took the cover off the engine and looked around. I could hear the trim relay click when I pressed the button and visually the relay appears fine.
Their is black grease covering all the inputs to the relay switch so I am not really sure how to test this with a multimeter...
Where do I go from here guys? Purchase another relay anyway and just give it a shot? Or should I swap the two relays and see if the trim goes up but not down after?
Anyways I am excited to be part of the boating community and the newest member to this forum!
