Hey Guys,
I have a 1993 bayliner jazz with a 90 hp force engine. It sat for about a year but ran fine before that. I just recently cleaned the carbs and fuel system and washed/waxed the boat, getting it ready to ride. It starts up and runs great on the trailer but when I put it in the water, it runs for maybe 30 seconds and slowly bogs down and shuts off. So after killing the battery trying to restart it, I put it back on the trailer and pulled it out of the water and it started right up. So I lowered it into the water again running and was able to get into the boat and back it up, but when I put it into drive, it bogged down and died again, refusing to start. I'm guessing either the propellers resistance in the water is slowing the engine down or could there be a seal leak letting water into the crankcase? I notice when the engine is running in the driveway, the propeller is making a slight rattling sound, which I thought was normal. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
