How can I determine who actually made my motor. After looking through my manual, it refers to GM and Ford models were used. I've always thought it was an actual Volvo (forget why), but now I wondering again. Serial #4100145627.

Also, if mine did have a trim limiter relay, where would I find it on the motor/boat?

thanks for any info on these problems:)

501B Explained it all. It's a 5.0L Chevy.

Thanks AGAIN Don!!! (you're the greatest ;) ).
Even after asking this question, I believed the answer was going to be a "Volvo", so this is really news to me!!!

So now that it's chevy, and it's suppossed to have a trim limiter, can you give me an idea on where to find it on a 93 Chaparral Signature 24?

On your DP-C drive, the trim limiting is actually done in the square digital display. The potentiometer in the top of the steering shaft (inside the boat) is the sending unit that feeds informtion to the display.

Thanks!!! mine is a DP-C, but my gage is a round one with a needle (analog), not digital. And I just reinstalled the sending unit, but from my manual, it appears there should be a seperate trim limiter somewhere. As of now, I have no limiter at all but my judgement ;)

Well, if you have a digital analog gauge, then you don't have a trim limit. That's how that works.

K, thanks Don S!!!!

I think we came to this conclusion before, but after browsing the manual this week, and finding one in the chevy diagrams, I thought I'd double check again just to be sure.
