93 15hp merc 2cycle primer assembly question

Have the carb taken apart and I noticed in my service manual diagram that there is a little ball that sits on top of the spring that sits in the plug on the bottom of the primer bowl. Is this correct?

Called a check ball. It was not in the primer assembly when i took it apart. I was looking for it utoo.i notice quicksilver includes this in their service repair kit. But the others do not is that also correct...carburetor WMC 39. There motor ran before just fine and i know i didnt drop the ball(no pun)
