I dropped the lower unit to change the water pump, but I am having issues getting the LU to marry up. It stops about an inch from the spline. What could I possibly be hung up on? Or, are there any tips so the U isn't kicking my backside in? TIA
If you have the shift linkage in the lower and the tube lined up you need to turn the motor over slightly to engage the spines. Use a socket on the crank in the flywheel recess.
