i am trying to help my uncle fix his bellows because all the shops are tied up for weeks.we got the manual and it says to pull the hinge pins with a slide hammer.i tried that and they wont budge.i put a grade 8 bolt down thru a socket and tightened it trying to pullit..that broke off flush.ive hit the pins with a hand sledge and they wont go in either.i have the lock bolts out.its a 1992 250 .says sp on the drive.does anyone have any secrets to this problem.thank you in advance.

You DO NOT have to pull the complete drive to change the bellows.
Just pull the upper gear box. You will need new orings when installing the gear box back on.
Makes the bellows change about an hours job instead of an all day job.

Hello there,

Use Don's method. But for future reference, when you tried to remove the hinge pin, did you remove the two locking screws first? Remove those and then screw in a 1/4 inch nc bolt and start slide hammering away. They should slide out. I have the same drive and they weren't that difficult to remove.

thank you don and yes i did take the lock bolts out first.
