It was sunk, towed behind a boat and wave pulled it under. Electrical? salt water in engine/pistons? Any suggestions on what to check first and/or typical solutions? Got new battery and plugs for it.

i 'think' this is the proceedure after the ski is sunk. remove plugs, crank over to blow water out, put an ounce or so of oil in the sparkplug holes and crank over w/o sparkplug. put yer new plugs in it and a bit of gas down the carb. throat and get it started. asap. if i'm not mistakein. getting an engine running asap is one of the most important things to do after bein sunk. <br />if ya injested saltwater and let it sit. i think ya will be replaceing lots of parts and doing lots of labor to bring it back i'm sorry to say... find out if it runs, now.....if it does, get it on the lake and run it hard to get the moister out of it. if it breaks, it was to late anyways. :( ...my 2 cent..

salt water is the worst, crank with plugs out and pour some atf in the carb ground the plug wires, atf will mix with water and lube everything as well, it will exit the plug holes looking pink because it is picking up water, place a towel over the engine to keep the atf from spraying all over the place, when the atf stops coming out use start fluid and just put the plugs in finger tight , keep removing the plugs and spray them with the start fluid to clean them eventually the engine will try to start and smoke like crazy, but this is good, once it runs use it as soon as possible, spray all electrical boxes and wires with siliconb spray as soon as possible and rinse out the interior of the boat with fresh water, also keep an eye out for water in the fuel filter. a t f is automatic transmission fluid by the way, start fluid is either
