PWCs aren't a real active topic here.

If you can get Jeff W? to respond you will get a good response.

Sorry I can't help. I really don't know much about these things...yet.

it is a 92 that is pretty old in the jet ski world so most likely the sending unit's float is bad or the conector is corroded. Remove the sender and hold it upside down, turn on the ski and see if it reads full, if it does you need a new sending unit they don't sell the float seperately, if it still reads empty you have an electrical problem somewhere, maybe a bad ground wire.

as for the high speed miss , your carbs may be opening past the wide open mark chech by looking down the carb with the throttle opened if the butterfly is going past the even position re adjust the throttle, if that isn't the issue you need to clean out the internal filter in the carb and probably rebuild the carb, if the high speed jet is not turned all the way in and closed like it is supposed to be it will also make the enginr break down and load up at w o t.

I would rebuild the carbs and fuel pump, a lean run can melt down a piston, also be sure no water is in the hull, water will spray around inside and get sucked in the air box causing engine damage.

Jeff is definatly the man :) . What he don't know about jet skis's ain't worth knowing.

Sounds to me is that the engine is running real lean at WOT. check the fuel delivery lines for crud, check inline filter. Pull the line-in hose to the pulse nipple on the carb, put your finger over the nipple and kick the ski over. If there is no suction.... time for a pump and carb kit.

Re: 92 Seadoo xp

sea doo fuel lined disolve from fuel addatives and crud up the entire fuel system, I always replace them with heavy wall vinly tubing that is clear and allows you to see what is going on it the fuel system, the lines are inexpensive and they do get loose if you use cable ties to secure them , so I use a larger hose over the ends to make it twice as thick where it clamps and use metal hose clamps to secure the ends this works fine,, I also learned that anyplace the hoses are close to the engine or exhaust system they should be insulated by sliding some black plastic wire loom over them to keep the fuel from heating up and vaporlocking, next I place a restrictor in the return line from the carbs to the fuel tank, I use a tiny egg sinker that has a hole through the center I heat the vinyl line and insert it in, right by the carbs, this keeps fuel preasure to the carbs and lets any air that may be it the system go past and bleed off in the tank, I had a engine that liked to stall when accelerating from a dead stop , I watched the clear lines to see why, there was air bubbles in the line and that lead me to a loose clamp in the fuel system on the suction side, once I found the air leak and tightened the clamp the engine ran fine, . I never leave sea doo fuel lines on a ski as they will always foul up the carbs and fuel switch.
