My 1992 Johnson 25HP outboard motor will stall out and die when I try and increase the speed from an idle. The motor will idle for hours but will not run any faster than that. The carburetor has been disassembled, soaked for 3 days in solution & cleaned as the motor was not run for several years as the boat/motor were housed in a garage. New gas, new gas line, and pumping the gas line ball when trying to increase speed does not seem to help. The problem is the same in forward & reverse. This motor has electric start and NO problems with starting. Thanks for any help/suggestions as I sure want to take my grandsons fishing!! The water pump was also rebuilt.
