how did you check the kill switch?? totally unplug it and see if you have spark.. then you need to have a book for primary and secondary resistance checks on the coil,,or you may have bad plug wires also check the fuses and the coil ground inside the box.
Also keep in mind that some ground wires will appear to be fine but they will be corroded internally and will not carry any power.
ok i didnt check it that way. i just tried pulling it out further and pushing it in a bunch of times. I will totally unplug it. I dont have a book on the resistances so would you happen to know a ball park? I did check the fuse and it looked good I will check it with my multimeter though just to make sure. I just moved the ground wires around i will check them with my multimeter too. I will get back to you on the results. Thanks for the help.
well jeff you were totaly on the money. I unplugged the kill switch and presto i had spark. It still wont start it has some bad gas in it it dont even smell like gas it smells more like water. well thank you very much for your help. I will probably asking alot more questions i have 2 jetskis and neither run.
with bad fuel you really need to remove the fuel tank and clean it really good,, then don't mess around , do a total rebuild on the carb,, with old fuel sitting in it you really need to rebuild it.
yea i guess i better do that. How do you clean out the fuel tank? I just dumped everything out. But i want to do this right. Thanks. also do you know where i can get carb rebuild kits cheap?
usually there is a bunch of old 2 stroke oil all gummed up in the bottom of the tank.. wash it with fresh fuel, then dump it out ,, check with s b t for the kit.
thank you so much for the help. Would you happen to know where i could get a manual for my 2 jetskis. Is there free downloads somewhere? Im looking for both the owners manual and service manual. I dont mind paying for the service manual but id like to find a copy of the owners manuals. I have the 91 yammy vrx and a 92 kawasaki TS. Any help would be great. Thanks again.
Ok got another question how do i know which carb i have on my yammy? I know its a mikuni but i have no idea which one. all it has is some numbers stamped in it they are 61L00. Thanks.
for the yamaha carb kit, sbt's part number is 35-160 price is 35 bucks, manual is 85-805 costs 40 bucks ,for the kaw manual part number is 85-802 for 40 bucks. try parts@jetkingparts for a used owners manual ,, he may have some.
