91 omc cobra

I need help again guys hopefully you can come through for me. I helping a friend out and his 1991 OMC 5.7 with OMC CObra melted his upper half of the gear case. Any Idea where I can get one resonable I can't believe how expenisve they are. I cheked ebay nothing really stood out. Of course I need this liek yesterday.

Ayuh,... I believe SEI builds a conversion kit for his drive....
He could bolt on an Alpha 1, Gen.II...

Thanks for the info but if I go that route it is still $2000 with the adpater kit. The boat is only worth $3000 so I am trying just to find the upper half for a reasonable price.

Howdy, You should note that if you "melt" the upper part of the drive, the entire drive must be either replaced or at least the lower must be disassembled and carefully inspected. The upper and Lower share the oil.
