91 OMC 4.3 wont start at operating temp

I have a 91 OMC 4.3 that runs great; until I turn the motor off at that time I have to wait for the temp to come down to 1/2 operating temp (gauge) the motor is not hot and the choke is fine i can move the throttle open and it is getting fuel. Was wondering if ther is a overheat sensor installed that may be faulty anyone have a suggestion please help<br />Thank-you

Check engine compression, fuel pump pressure and volume. Starter dragging? You could connect a timing light to coil wire and tell if you were getting spark on hot restart.

I have dau in Panama City, will be up there this summer for 3/4 days. If you don,t have it going by then, I have some new toys (meters) to play with, will help you check it out.

I finally found the problem,<br />It was a bad coil the coil would get hot and still keep the boat running but was not enough spark to start the engine found the coil to be extremel hot replaced the coil and the boat runs great and starts great.<br />Thanks for all the advice and help.<br />Barry
