With the clamshell style hood there doesn't seem to be a good place to put a tilt/trim switch like the motors with a pan- 1 piece hood. Was this style motor ever avail with a remote switch, any ideas?
Looks like it's gonna be a pain to put a transom saver on by yourself. Maybe use a piece of 2x4 to hold up the saver while I let the motor down from the controls.

As far as the switch goes, it doesn't have to be mounted on the motor.
It can go on the boat.

I ran the wires out along side the main wiring harness, used 2 zip ties and secured the switch to the cable that runs down to the trim unit.

Easily accessible from inside the boat, or while installing the transom saver. And no holes drilled in the motor.

Thanks, both good ideas. I'll look for a place around the transom area.
