When I bought the zodiac, they wouldn't let me take it home...they couldn't get it to run right, it took four days to clean the carbs.

Fourth of july, it started to run horrible. I even put in premium grade. In neutral the motor would wind way out, In gear it would only power up to half power. (boat does 24mph, 11mph when running bad)
the next day we mouth blew out the inline filter and it ran nice the rest of the day. The next weekend, it ran bad most of the day

top spark plug was nice dry tan, bottom was moist black color.

I am using the VRO system

thank you

Re: 91 johnson 40 bogs down in gear

I replaced the inline fuel filter
we took it out again. Still same problem

After getting it warmed up, the motor will not power up to full speed. It acts like it luggs down.

When it is in neutral, the hand throttle will make the motor wind out to max rpm.

But when in gear, it will not, but sometimes you can get some power/speed out of it...like there is a clogged fuel line that moves around

When the motor does get up to full power/speed...and then looses power...its like the motor is siezing up to a clunk and dies (almost stops instantly); but its easy to restart

CAN I clean the vro pump, replace ALL the lines, or is it something else?
help me and thank you
