Got a 1981 90hp merc. Has been TLC'd yet seems to be taking longer and longer to start. Any thoughts?

enrichen the idle needles 1/8 to 1/4 turn open As long as you have new or good plugs in it. Bad fuel in the summer heat and humidity. Your fuel starts to loose octain 2 wks after you pump it. The motor will boil the fuel out of the carbs after you shut it off this time of the yr so you may have to squeeze the primer bulb to fill the bowls up again.
corm :)
oops I see your from up north so the heat thing is less of a problem.

I suspect the fuel pump take it apart and look around in there but besure it all goes back the same. They have repair kits for $12. I am having simiar problems with my new engine but feel its the carbs on this one.
