90hp evinrude fuel leak issues

I have a 90hp VRO V4 Evinrude 1991. I cleaned the carbs, checked hose clamps on the fuel lines, and changed fuel filter. In the picture is a fuel leak from the lower part of the motor. I don't see fuel leaking anywhere under the cover. Anyone know why the fuel may be leaking from where it is in the picture?

I thought this leak was fixed after all of the work I mentioned above. I took the boat out for a test drive and it would run fine until I got on it full throttle. The boat would plane out/run good for about a minute and then would lose power. Noticed this leak was back after I got home was checking on what was going on from the poor test drive.

It's a drain hole, and should clear water and unburned fuel mix from the leg. If you are running rich, maybe the primer isn't set or operating properly.

So could that be from me pumping the primer bulb too much? I was trying to get the bulb to prime up when that started leaking. The fuel filter will fill up but it won't stay full, I've tried tightening all of the hose clamps and checking the connections.

could be -- might be over priming with the bulb. Check the lever on the primer solenoid -- should be lay along the solenoid for running.

It's possible a carb float valve is not closing (needle not stopping flow).

The lever is parallel with the solenoid in the run position, I had to replace it a month ago because it had a crack and was leaking fuel. With fuel filter not staying full is that a problem before the filter or after the filter?

DOes fuel bulb stay primed with engine off?
Id suspect a bad float/needle in a carb, tilting the engine up can help as you can see which carb it comes from (with the engine off)

Not sure it's a problem. If you have an inline filter and the primer bulb doesn't get super hard, the filter probably wouldn't be full either. The bulbs on my motors do not necessarily get rock hard when the carbs are full.

If you have operating problems, though something is going on. It's possible your VRO fuel pump diaphragm is torn or holed -- worth inspecting.

The inline Filter fills up but after a minute it drains completely empty. The the primer bulb doesn't stay primed like it used to. As for the VRO system I don't think it works. I've been mixing oil in the gas tank, because when I bought it the wires under the cover were unplugged. If I plug them together the alarm won't turn off. I'll pull the fuel pump apart to check that diaphragm like you mentioned. I've had the boat for three years now and haven't had hardly any problems till I started fixing some of the issues that have popped up recently.

I had a similar problem on my 1995 90 Ocean Runner. Turns out the aluminum throttle plate was installed with scratches on it. This allows fuel to leak past the spaghetti seal between it and the engine. Still have it apart, and I’m hoping that machining the surface a bit will solve that.

You say the inline filter drains after a minute or so.. wheres it draining too? it shouldnt be able to drain backwards as the fuel bulb has a one way valve on it.
Well thats my understanding of how it should all work in theory and you do say it doesnt stay primed like it use too
