90 yamaha falling on it face

I hava 90 hp 2 stroke 2002 yamaha outboard that runs good for a wile sometimes a long time sometimes for a short time. You will be runing along at about 4000 rpms and it wil just fall on its face, it will not shut off just go to a idle, sputter around for a few minets and take off again. Changed water seperator, everything looked fine, checked filter under cover and went to an external tank, and still the same problem, any suggestions, thanks.

test your alarm system to make sure it functions properly
You may have overheat or low oil bringing in safe mode but alarm is not sounding

drain oil tank for oil level and ground temperature switch wire for over temp with key turned on
