90 Sea Ray Vibrates And Clunks

I have a 90 searay 180 i/o mercruiser v-6 ,power steering,alpha 1 out drive. the issues i have are two, 1 the steering appears loose and sloppy - especially at low speeds, found play in cable to rack connection- is there an inexpensive way to take up play?question 2 when rear drive is disengaged and rpm in increased i get what seems to be an unusuall amount of vibration - ok when cruising.. help? thanks , rob

okay, no yellin this time....... 4.3 engine mercruiser - gm v-6 alpha 1 out drive to name a few..
