Got a 2000 90 hp Johnson that when I push the fuel primer bulb fuel comes out each of the 4 air intake ports, would say the bottom 2 first then the top 2. Bulb gets firm but won't stay firm. Anyone have any ideas? Motor was ran approximately 2 months ago with little issue. Thanks

sounds offhand like issues with the fuel float/float valve assemblies.

I believe those are the plastic float bowls, notorious for warping. Easily visible, if leaking, can suck air also and cause problems. People overtighten the corner screws also, enhancing the warping issue.

Just a thought.

Ok. Thanks for the insight. Like I said boat started decent 2 months ago. Would something have to happen to each one of the carbs at the same time? Just seems unlikely. I could see if 1 maybe 2 did it. Can I make adjustments without tearing into carbs? Or rebuild? Thanks

Keep them filled with fresh fuel for a day or so. Pump the primer a few times during the day. It may loosen the inlet needles up. After that day, pump up the primer and see if she still leaks. If she leaks, you will likely need to pull carbs and repair inlet needles, gaskets and maybe replace carb bowls.

Thanks. Has anyone seen this happen to, for all intents and purposes, all 4 carbs at relatively the same time?

If it is inlet needles sticking, it usually only happens to a single carb. However, it is worth a try to fill them with fresh fuel and wait a day.
