90 hp Sport Jet WOT not going anywhere!

I have a 90 hp Sport Jet/Force in a 1994 Dynasty Jet Storm. At full throttle the engine surges and revs really loud but I have no power. Its like its out of gear. It starts and idles fine. I can give it about half throttle and the bow comes out of the water. But at full throttle Im moving the same.

I have taken apart the carbs and cleaned them. It has fresh gas. Fuel pump works good. I was trying to adjust the timing rod at WOT but I couldn't because of this. It was at 20 degs at half throttle. Is this a timing problem? Or is the impeller slipping or something?

The motor probably has nothing to do with it, start looking at the pump itself, there could be something jammed in the intake or impeller, worn out parts in the pump will do it too.

start by fixing the ride plate and go from there.

I think is has to do with cavitation. I took the ride plate off and bent it back to fit and ordered a new ride plate seal. I found this forum with the same problem im having. http://www.meanchicken.net/webmain/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=4730
Hopefully soon ill be able to take it out again and try again.

After straightening the ride plate and installing a new ride plate seal I was able to reach full throttle without any problem. I was also able to adjust the timing link and read 30deg at full throttle. Overall I think I fixed the problem but im not impressed with the performance of this boat. Its kinda slow
