90 hp mariner prop question

I have a 1987/1988 mariner 90 hp 3 cyl. on a 99 fisher s/c bass boat 16' in length. I'am trying to upgrade my prop to get better performance & top end speed.Currenty I"am turning a 13 1/4 x 19 merc alum. prop. I know the questions you want to ask so I'll list them.<br />1999 fisher f-16 pro 16'<br />hull weight 975 lbs.<br />90 hp mariner suggested operating rpm 4750-5250<br />current wot rpm 5250 w/ 13 1/4 x 19 alum merc. prop<br />motor weight 265 lbs.<br />mph @ wot 41 gps<br />I hope that I didn't forget anything.I would like to up grade to stainless and pick up top end speed. One other note the current alum prop rockets this boat to plane.The motor has a fresh power head with good compression 148-150 all 3 cyls.<br /> thanks for all positive feedback<br />wjphunter

If you switch to a 19p stainless you'll be over the 5250, and you don't even wanna over-rev those 2nd generation 90's. <br /><br />I'd suggest a 21 stainless.<br /><br />-W

So what you are tell me is that the ss prop is easier to turn than the alum.

Yes, because it's much thinner.<br /><br />In a perfect world I'd try a 20 and a 21. But it's not a perfect world.<br /><br />-W
