90 hp Johnson

Im ****ering with a dealer on a new Sea Ark Bass boat with a 90 hp johnson on it. not sure whether its a 05 or 06 motor, waiting on response from dealer. My question is it carburated or injected, any thoughts on the motor one way or another?? Anything to wach for? ect ect this is all new to me when it comes to a NEW boat and motor.

If it's a 2 stroke it should be carb'd. If it's a 4 stroke it'll be injected.<br /><br />But what difference does it make? You're going to end up with a 150HO E-Tec anyway....

its 05 2stroke carryover new boat, Im going next week to look at it.Any known problems with these motors, Any Idea on fuel consumption?

If it's a crossflow, it's the age ol' tried and very proven design. Very reliable if set up right. If it's the 60*, it's the newer looper design. Very peppy and very reliable - again - if set up properly. Both good motors but I'd guess the 60* would carry a load better as it makes more torque and does it quicker.<br /><br />Both will burn about 9 gallons an hour at wide open. That's just a general rule of thumb. But I'd almost bet the 60* will turn a slightly bigger prop.

That would make it like the 88spcl on my other boat, I didnt kow if thier were some New motors at Johnson or not. Thanks Dhadley
