90 HP Johnson Service manual 507757 (1989) vs 507874 (1990)

I recently purchased a 90HP Johnson V4, 1990 model. My buddy has a service manual for an 89 V4, manual #507757

Does anyone know if that manual will suffice for my 1990 model year?

Are there any major differences between the 89 and 90 models?

Well the manufactures did put out new service manuals every year. There may be changes to linkages, induction systems, ignitions systems, settings, and adjustment procedures. Without see the manuals for both years side by side, I'm NOT going to say 'sure no problem'. Lots of thing may be identical but...

You can start by digging into the parts diagrams for both year 90hp.

Well, I do not believe a MERCURY manual is of any use on a big JOHNSON

Pretty much the same, I think you will do fine with either manual 89 or 90.
