90 Horse Johnson running on 3 cyl

I have a 92-93 90 horse Johnson\Tracker Model # TJ90TLETS. It started out hitting on 3 when first started and then would snap out of it and run fine. Today took it out ran for 20 min and it would only run on 3 and then dropped another cyl for a little bit. Restarted and ran on 3 again back to ramp. I put new plugs in before going,checked when I got back. 3 were dirty and 1 looked like I had just put it in. the boat has not had a lot of run time this year. Any input would be greatly appreciated. A good possibility is you're dropping a coil. With the help of a manual you can test the coils. You can also remove them all and clean the ground straps and the block where they ground.

Sounds like you had a powerpack go bad. check for spark. When you find the one with no spark swap the coil wires and see if the trouble follows. Then replace the bad powerpack. Oh, and welcome to iboats.

I checked for spark, no spark on 2 cylinders. swapped orange wire off of coil to the one that doesnt work and I got a good spark to it. Powerpack? Thanks for your input, you guys are great. Tim

How about the orange wire that didn't work? Still no spark when you put it to a coil that did work? Yep, sounds like power pack.
