I am having a problem using the Evinrude Version 2.6 software on a Palm PDA handheld. I get to the timing adjustment and after starting the engine, I will get the reading "Ignition timing should be" 35 degrees BTDC and "Current offset" 5 degrees retarded. What are the steps to alter the timing. Do you alter it with the engine running or engine off and just the key on. I have tried altering the timing with it running and can hear the change of rpm's and try to save it but it does not seem to work. Any help is appreciated.
