Hello, I'm new to the forum. I purchased a 1990 250DA with the 7.4 Bravo with aprox 335 hours on it. I was wondering if anybody had any advice on what to watch out for with this engine(if anything in particular.) Also is the hull and boat built to handle considerable stress? I go through an inlet that gets pretty hairy at times and have to go through some swells that I get some air. This is my first boat by the way. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Howdy.<br />Hard to beat a 7.4 Bravo... basically a bulletproof package... a 25'DA is a nice boat too. They're not really a 'rough water' boat so I don't know if I'd be wanting to get a bunch of air in it. Remember, boats treat you like you treat them!

Thanks for the advice, I'll keep it in mind. I'm pretty happy with it so far. It goes fast enough for me and is a lot better on gas than I ever imagined. Also, I trailer it so I put it in wherever I want to.

I had a 7.4 on a 220 O/N SS and with a good flush and regular service you'll get a lot of life out of her. At around 400 hours I replaced the exhaust manifolds and risers as a preventative measure. Used Osco parts and had a mobile service do it who was very reasonable. $1500 total for peace of mind.
