Hi boaters,

I am looking to buy a used small kicker for my boat, that I will use for trolling and as a spare motor in case the bigger guy let me down one day!!

So I am looking for a 9.9 HP any brand and last week end I found a guy who has a Suzuki 7.5 HP for sale, the year he is not sure but he said it is around 83- 84. Do you know if that 7.5 Suzuki will give the same power and service as a 9.9 HP ?

Regards

Mario :)

Is that for a Smoker Craft Pro Mag 162? 16' and 75HP?
The 7.5 is okay for trolling I guess. But if you are out there and the big one quits you gets back faster with the 9.9. Add some biting wind and wawes and the 9.9 is my choice.

Bigger is always better no matters what. When you need the power you have it.
Cheers, and happy boating.
bro Chris

Thanks guys,

Well Sloopy, there is only about 7 to 8 pounds difference between those so it is not an issue.
I am more concern about control of the boat while trolling.

Thanks

Mario ;)
