I have what I believe is an '85 Tohatsu 9.9 hp motor. M9.9B 355A 98187. It has 4 wires that are not connected that should go to controls. There is a white, black, and the other two might be brown and tan. How would I connect these to controls?
you might check out the owner's manual. There's a wiring diagram in the back of the book which might help. I just looked at the Tohatsu website and they don't have any of the old 9.9B owner's manuals on their website but the Nissan Marine website does (and it's the same motor as the Tohatsu 9.9B). Go to www.nissanmarine.com and you'll see a link at the top of the page for "owners manuals". Go to it and then scroll down to the 2-stroke manuals and download the NS9.9B manual. On the last couple of pages are the wiring diagrams.
