9.9 Tach

I have a 1991 9.9 evinrude that I want to rig a Tachometer to.<br />I am looking to attach a quick disconnect harness<br />that I can remove when I need to take the motor off the boat.It is a tiller handle motor.<br />What wires do I use to rig this,if it can be done.<br />Will it effect the running of the motor?And where can I splice the wires that will not effect the motor?

Unless it is an electric start motor I don't think you can use a conventional OB tach. Perhaps someone can recommend an alternative or you can check with tiny tach and see what they offer.
