I tried out sailboat with 9.9. I didn't read up on the motor until later. The motor ran fine but I don't remember the oil pressure light coming on. Can you see them in bright sunlight? Do they normally work? I understand that the motor will run rough if the oil pressure is too low. Correct? The little window didn't even look like a light to me.

I believe they're a neon-thing. Direct sunlight may overpower the light. Try shading it with your hand next time.

on the 84-05 f9.9 and t9.9 motors the green light goes out for lack of oil pressure, most I ever saw go into an RPM reduction mode as well.
