I just bought a 9.9- 2 stroke Nissan model NS9.9 D, serial 355A-1 70781. My question is that it appears to have the original white painted aluminum prop. On the hub of the prop is stamped "G4-198". and on one blade is stamped "8.5" What does that mean? 8.5 pitch or diameter? What would be a good prop for this motor on a lightly loaded 14x36 inch flat bottom aluminum boat ? I haven't run it yet- just wanting some opinions......thanks

8.5 pitch. Only a tachometer can tell you if you have the best pitch.

Pass that detuned model to a upgraded 15 D version, will have more boating fun than with a 9.9. Usually factory delivered props on light to medium light applications performs very well. Will probably need a prop maximization if pushing heavy applications, but that's with an inductiion tach to monitor achieved wot rpm.

Happy Boating
