9.9 fourstroke carb problems?

I have a 9.9 4 stroke that when starting will pop and sputter when cold.It will idle ok but when applying throttle it pops and sputters for a minute or two before getting warm.Some times it will stall out completely.After it gets warm it will smooth out and run fine.<br /><br />Any ideas?

well a year model may help as there were several variations of the cold enrichment circuits used. I think at the forum page it askes posters to supply certain information to assist the rest.<br /> as I dont know what you have other than a 9.9 fourstroke of a yamaha manufacture all I can say is check the cold start enrichment circuits ,check the cooling system for proper operation and can ya just let the motor warm up to operating temps before taking off ?

Whoops,sorry Rodbolt.I will get the correst starting enrichment system,to include the correct year.
