9.9 Force faded serial and model numbers

My friend bought a 9.9 Force and the serial and model numbers are faded. Is there any way to figure out what year it is?

Someplace on the power head, usually on the cylinder someplace is a foundry casting stamp.
It's usually round with a year in the center of the circle.

Sometimes posting a pic will get a response.

The only thing that I can see on the cylinders is a plain 2 stamped on the top, but it's not in a circle or anything. On top of the flywheel there is a 9 stamped in a fancy circle that resembles a manhole cover. I took pictures of everything but can't seem to post them. I could email them to someone if they are interested in posting them
