9.9 Evinrude outboard quesitons

when i start her up she is loud like a ticking sound when the pistons move. after the motor is warmed up it quiets down and runs alright. any ideas to why the motor is loud when i start it up and queits down after warming up? thanks

Maybe the flywheel is touching something when cold that it misses when warmed up and expanded.

i took a look at the flywheel and it doesnt touch. i have heard it could be from a bad piston ring. would this be possible? if so can i change that myself. thanks.
