9.9 Evinrude 4Stroke Electric Prime

Having trouble keeping it running after it warms up - works fine if I squeeze the ball.

I am now wondering if I "bumped" the manual lever (the little red thing) on the electric prime solenoid, when I was replacing the fuel pump. What position should it be in? Can this cause my problem?
