9.9 and 15hp Honda outboard starter

I have a electric start 9.9hp Honda and a pull start 15hp Honda outboard . Will the starter fit the 15hp ? Any help would be great .

Don't know about Honda, most other 9.9 & 15 brands share same engine block, just carb, timing, cam, reed valves, whatever method detuned versions. Grab a parts manual, check on line both codes. The 15 HP must have a dented flywheel in order to swap the 9.9 electric starter motor, if not, probably must do a flywheel swap too.

Yes it can be done but it will not be easy.Since you already have the fiywheel,harness,starter button,battery cables,etc,etc,be ready for at least a little effort.As long as this is a swap between two 9.9 or 15 A it should not be that difficult.Just swap things one component at a time and do'nt get frustrated getting that wire harness where it needs to be.
