I bought a beat up 1996 yamaha 2-stroke. It had an ignition issue that I fixed, also replaced the impeller. Got the motor to start, gotta work on some carb issues -- it surges and dies and it probably a needle valve or just dirty jets, not a big deal.
BUT, when it is running, the flywheel seems to be spinning, not like a top, but as if the flywheel is slightly eliptical in shape. Is this normal?? I've had a Nissan 2-stroke, and I don't remember it spinning like this.....they flywheel when not running isn't loose and doesn't have any play at all.
I will pull the starter cord off and have a look to see if there is a loose nut or something else obvious (to me), but just wanted to know if this sounds normal.
Thanks, Dan
