hi.
i run in notexpected problems.
friend gave me to fix his 15 Johnson,79'.
the problem was water circulation problems.
he burn paint on the head area-head become brown(should be white)
head was blocked with sand, termostat full of sand, termostat stuck closed ,no water circulation
so i started to pull out.one bolt broke(left hand in the midle, just between plugs)
in block 1cm of broken bolt sticks out.
i try to grab with wisegrip but no luck.
so i i was in my way to autorepair shop, but i got an idea to turn to my friend i\and try to heat bolt area.
so we heated bolt and piece of block just close to broken bolt area.
aluminium block just start to boil.so i took block from heating.
i did big mess with broken bolt area.
so back on my ay to repair shop.they dril out broken bolt but this boiled piece of aluminium just fol out.
they are going to do aluminium welding, make a thread in this hole and have to do the block flatenig.
after flatenig will screw in bolt with thread on end for nut thitenig
head was overheatin, so they do the head flatening.had to remove 0.4mm od head surface.
after welding on block i thing they will also remove some material(block with cylinder bore should be flat),maybe also 0.4mm
so i'm meesing 0.8 mm of space.
my question is what about piston movement.will piston hit the head?
should i do thicker head gasket?
