RR,

Run carb dry at idle or fast idle speed, untill engine drops dead. It's time you run that engine for some minutes at wot from time to time, it's good for the engine

Happy Boating

Rich,

If the motor always starts stuttering at the same RPM, near WOT, (and stays there no matter how much additional throttle you add, but immediately goes away when you get below a particular RPM threshold), you are likely hitting the ESG (over-speed governor) that keeps you from blowing it up. However, that should not engage before about 6200. Has this always happened? One possibility: Your tach could be out of calibration. What tachometer are you running? If the tach is in question, you can probably borrow and put a good shop tach on it to verify. OTOH, a rare possibility is that the ESG in the CD might be engaging early; again, a good shop tach can tell you the RPM where the "bucking" engages. If it's not too much of a problem, you could wait until the off season, and have your dealer check it out. Otherwise, since you are quite a ways from your dealer, you may want to do the testing yourself.

I run WOT everyday I use it for approx 30 minutes a day. The rest is half or 1/4 throttle I USE A MINI TACH I HAVE TWO OF THEM AND THE DIFFERENCE IS ABOUT 50 RPM'S, SO NOT A BIG DEAL. This Jewel runs and starts well. but I can tell when it is running good and when it's not by the sound and something you know. This problem just started this week or last week. I'm not a outboard Mec, and my memory is shot. as for off season that is about 45 days a year late Dec-mid January. I love to fish... By my self.. Thanks Paul
