I have a 9.5 hp Johnson 1971 model year that started to just die out after running for a while. It runs longer than it would if it was just running gas out of carb after pumping. Sometimes it will run 10 minutes and sometimes only 3or 4 minutes then just die. I can pump up the bulb and it will run just fine( the Bulb doesnt seem to be getting as hard as it used to). usually not dieing out out for a long time then I will have to do it alll over again. I found the fuel line connectors were loose,so I tightened them up and it helped for a while now it is back doing the same thing again. Please any help will be greatly appereciated.

You either have a bad fuel pump or you have a leak or restriction in the tank / hose. A sneaky leak is where the hose connects to the tank. Any gas squirts or sucking sounds there when you work the primer bulb? Even a small leak will let the fuel pump such air instead of gas.

Check the fuel line from where it comes into the motor to the fuel pump, also from the fuel pump to the carb.
