Does anyone know a manufacturer who makes a 8HP or less motor with these options. I know there are 9,9HP available but I would like something with less HP.
Thanks for your help.

Welcome aboard. you can get a remote kit for any of the motors from 9.9 down to about the 6hp range. Since almost every outboard under 40hp is a re branded tohatsu, the same kit should fit most.

I know that my mid 80's electric start Merc 9.8 and 7.5's used the same kit

Thanks Scott.

I want a new motor. I don't think that the "one size fits all" solution works anymore. The Honda dealer here says an 8HP does not kit exists for the Honda 8HP. Does any one know for sure?

I still would like a new 8HP motor with Remote Steering, Electric Start and Power Tilt .

Maybe he's looking for a kicker to use on a smaller boat? Otherwise I don't see much point of that small of a motor with everything remote.

Don't think that animal exists any longer, since Yamaha discontinued the T8.
Evinrude doesn't have an 8 hp listed.
Tohatsu doesn't make an 8 remote. Neither does Merc.

Since tilt units start at about $500+, and any sort of remote system would be custom, It will get real expensive real fast.

You can buy the motor you want, it just says 9.9 on the cowling.
