8hp johno runs than stalls suspect mixture screw?

motor im having problems with is a johno 8hp mid 90's it starts and will idle perfectly fine for 1-2mins than it will bog down and stall, if the choke is put in the half on position the motor will continue to run (once running fine choke is turned off than repeat above) the other thing is the motor will idle perfectly fine without the choke half on if the rev's are higher than idle im thinking it could be the mixture screw needs adjusting does anyone know how many turns out the standard factory setting is?

If this a new problem this year, I'd suspect varnishing. I'm not sure about yours specificlly, depends on the carb. Older ones are about one turn out. Newer ones can be three to five.
