Does anyone have an owners manual or know where to get one online. I've looked for a while with no luck. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think the general consensus is that most boats don't have manuals. Shop manuals for the engine and outdrive should be readily available though.

^^^ If Sunbird were still in business you could take a stab at it, but generally speaking boat manuals are more safety disclosures. Most of the additional pieces from the hull itself are provided by suppliers.

What are you trying to figure out?

I bought the boat with a temporary 5 gal gas tank being use. I'd like to put an original size back in. I know I can get a custom one made just looking for Gal size needed at a mininum for boating.

Is the original tank in place? If it is you'll can pull the floor & take measurements of the old tank. You'll need to remove the floor anyway to install the new one. Why do you need a new tank? And I doubt very much that the boat manuel would include the info that you're looking for.

Also, there's an owner's group on this website. Look under Sunbird & post your question. Somedody there may be able to help you out.

correct me if i'm wrong but I would think you need one to fit where the old one was or is. The sending unit should tell you how much gas you have or don't have. The gallons put in would be secondary to a good fit, IMHO.

The original tank was removed at some point before I bought the boat. So just a huge void down the middle. I kind of assumed measuring and determining the volume would give me the holdings for the tank in gallons. Sounds like ill be doing some calculating and measuring this weekend. Thanks all!

No need to repost this topic, the Sunbird forum isnt particularly active, I'd net there are only 1 or maybe 2 topics that haven't aged out past the 90day inactivity rule, if that many

Sure that isnt a ski locker or part of 1.

Your boat probably didnt have a HUGE void filling tank....

The ski locker is separated. Not a huge void but missing a tank. My mistake for not checking when buying the boat. But when the wife says "yes" to buying a boat I got to jump at the opportunity before she changes her mind.!!!! haha

my current boat has a 30 gallon tank. I suspect the boats are close to the same size? I don't think it will be a big deal installing a new one.
