Please help! We have an '89 Mercruiser 4.3 Alpha-One that boggs down seriously when warmed up and half throttle. We know we had water in the trim lines and recently had a whole new trim put on and they cleaned the lines when we did that. We've put $1500 in this boat this summer and it's an 89 Rinker - we love it - it's in good shape but it keeps bogging down. If we change the plugs and distributor - would that help or should we do something else? I don't know how much more money we want to keep putting in this boat! HELP!!!

Id be interested if you found the problem with you engine,Ive had the same problem,Said it was the fuel pump, insalled new one but the problem was still there, what made it better was I put in a fuel seperator, helped alot problem was lots of carpet in the fuel tank. When you would really run it hard the carpet would clog the fuel line then leave off the gas alittle it would be fine.
